DocBox Privacy Policy
DocBox (“the App”) is a local document organizer for HarmonyOS. It lets you photograph, file and retrieve paper documents such as appliance manuals, warranty cards, and property or vehicle insurance certificates. The App is developed and provided by AiteSn (“we”, “us”).
We understand how sensitive these papers are. The App is therefore built on a simple principle: collect nothing, upload nothing, work offline. Please read this policy before you start using the App.
1. Scope and developer information
| App | DocBox |
|---|---|
| Bundle name | com.shuixiande.DocBox |
| Developer | AiteSn |
| Platform | HarmonyOS (phone and tablet), current version V1.0 |
| Contact | hi@aitesn.top |
| Scope | The App itself and this product website (docbox.aitesn.top). It does not cover the data practices of third-party app stores through which you may reach us. |
2. What we collect
We collect no personal information. There is no account system, no sign-up and no sign-in. The App does not access device identifiers (IMEI, OAID and similar), location, contacts, messages, clipboard or the list of installed apps, and it registers for no push notifications.
| Data type | Collected | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Account & identity | No | No registration, no profile, no login |
| Device IDs & logs | No | No analytics, crash reporting or telemetry SDK |
| Location, contacts, messages | No | No such permissions are declared; the App has no access |
| Documents you file | On-device only | Name, category, brand, model, purchase date, notes and photos stay in the app sandbox; we cannot access them |
Content marked “on-device only” is not data we collect: it never leaves your device, we have no technical means to read it, and there is no server on our side that could receive it.
3. Permissions and system capabilities
The App declares no permissions at all in its module.json5—no camera, microphone, location, contacts, calendar, media library or network permission. Anything that touches content outside the App goes through a system picker and requires your confirmation each time:
| Feature | How it works | Permission |
|---|---|---|
| Photograph a manual or fault code | Opens the system camera picker and returns the single photo you capture | None |
| Import photos | Opens the system photo picker and returns only the images you select | None |
| Fault-code text recognition | System on-device text recognition (Core Vision Kit), executed locally | None |
| Data storage | Local database and image directory inside the app sandbox | None |
Because no permissions are declared, the App cannot open the camera, read your gallery or touch other apps’ private data while you are not actively operating it. The operating system enforces this, rather than relying on the App’s good behaviour.
4. Storage and security
- Where: everything is stored in the App’s sandbox on your device—a local relational database holds the index, image files sit in the same sandbox.
- How long: for as long as you decide. Nothing expires and nothing is uploaded or synced; deleting an entry or uninstalling the App removes the data.
- Protection: data is isolated by the HarmonyOS app sandbox, so other apps cannot read it directly. Your device lock screen, system disk encryption and system backup settings also apply. We recommend setting a screen lock and uninstalling the App before selling or repairing the device.
- We hold nothing: there is no cloud account and no server-side database, so there is no “platform breach” surface for your documents.
5. Network access and third parties
- The App makes no network requests. It bundles no third-party SDK—no analytics, advertising, push, payment, social, maps or crash-reporting components—and sends nothing anywhere.
- No sharing, transfer or disclosure. Since we collect no information, there is nothing to share, sell or disclose.
- System services: camera, photo picker and text recognition are provided by HarmonyOS and run on-device. Whether system components process diagnostic data is governed by Huawei’s own privacy policy, which the App cannot influence.
6. This website and the interactive demo
- This site is a product introduction page. It has no accounts, no cookie-based tracking and no analytics or advertising scripts.
- The site is served by a third-party static hosting provider (Vercel), which as an infrastructure provider may record basic access logs (IP address, request time, user agent) for security and billing. We do not read or analyse those logs.
- The interactive demo only reproduces the App’s screens. Anything you type into it is stored in your browser’s local storage (localStorage) and never uploaded; clearing site data or pressing “restore sample data” removes it. Brands, model numbers and reference numbers in the demo are fictional.
- The demo is a browser simulation. It cannot read data from your phone and does not sync with the installed App.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal data, to withdraw consent, or to lodge a complaint. Because DocBox collects nothing and has no account, you exercise these rights directly on your device:
- Access: open any entry in the App to view every field and page image.
- Correction: open the entry and tap “Edit” to change name, brand, model, date or notes.
- Deletion: tap “Delete” in the entry detail page; the database record and its image files are removed together.
- Withdraw consent / close account: there is no account and no standing authorisation; uninstalling the App ends the relationship and clears all local data.
8. Deletion and uninstalling
- Deleting an entry removes its database record and all of its image files, with no retained copy.
- Uninstalling the App (or clearing its data in system settings) deletes everything the App stored on the device.
- Please note: V1 offers no cloud sync, export or trash bin. After uninstalling, clearing data, switching devices or a device failure, the data cannot be recovered—keep the paper originals.
9. Children
DocBox is a general-purpose utility and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from children; content filed by a child using the App under guardian guidance also stays on the device only. Guardians with questions may contact us using the details below.
10. International transfers
The App does not transfer personal information across borders. The website may be served from infrastructure outside your country, but it never receives your documents—only the basic access logs described above.
11. Changes to this policy
If a future version changes how information is handled (for example by adding cloud sync, export or crash reporting), we will update this page, change the “last updated” date, and highlight the change inside the App. Where the purpose, method or categories of data change, we will ask for your consent again.
12. Contact and complaints
- Email: hi@aitesn.top (we usually reply within 7 business days).
- App store: you can also use the developer contact shown on the App’s page in HUAWEI AppGallery.
- Complaints: if you believe our processing infringes your rights, you may complain to the competent data protection authority in your jurisdiction or bring the matter before a court of competent jurisdiction.
